Elgarhel had a gentle, innocent soul. He knew Adaren since they were both children, even before his magical talent manifested. They were already together as teens, and married the same day they both got their vallaslin: perfectly matching each other’s eye colour to never forget their ties. When she felt pregnant with Sulevin Lavellan, they were immensely happy. He was the First to Deshanna, his mother; and Adaren was to become the leader of the Hunters. Everything felt too perfect. But at the last month of her pregnancy, with their nomad lifestyle, it was too hard for Adaren to follow the rhythm of the clan. Elgarhel took her to the nearest human city, asking for help and hospitality. A place where she could give birth and rest without stress. An old couple took them in for a while, but one day Templars knocked at the door: they have been betrayed by their hosts in exchange of some gold. He had to completely cut ties with the Lavellan when he was taken the Circle of Magi of Montsimmard in Orlaïs, letting his wife and new born daughter on their own, against his will. Elgarhel knew as soon as he arrived there would be no escape, no coming back. And no way to contact them. He tried to live a respectful and calm life in the tower for decades, following his superiors and helping where he could. One day, he heard about the Herald of Andrasté, after the Inquisition was in Halamshiral, forced to disbanded but resisted. A lot of people in Orlaïs still didn’t know the real identity behind “The Inquisitor”: a Dalish elf, a simple young adult woman, Sulevin Lavellan. His eyes glittered with holding back tears. After all these years?
