“Grima” was waiting near the entrance of the village to see Chrom and his milicia being trapped. When they arrived, Loustica attacked the brigands by their side to gain her highness’s trust. (The brigands don’t recognize her as she has never shown them her face. They met Loustica late at night and she was wearing her hoodie when they agreed on that plan.). After presenting herself as “Loustica”, Chrom thanks her for the help and recruits her in the Shepherds, seeing her fighting skills could be handy.
The trap isn’t over after the brigand attack. She tries to seduce Chrom in order to get close to him and kill him without being accused of that. So she gets close to everyone and acts like a “nice person” with all the Shepherds. Miriel gets a bit suspicious about her, seeing the Grima designs on her coat, but she’s glad everyone likes her. It takes Frederick a few weeks to fully “accept” her as a Shepherds though. Loustica uses the manipulative tricks she learnt from Valldar and Aversa to her own benefit.
The plan works and they all get closer. Her main prey, Chrom, proves to be very easy-going & dense, which makes her whole plan easier to execute. Loustica’s sleeping schedule is terrible, she stays awake late at night. She uses that time to just think and scheme future events. She noticed that Chrom was staying up late, too. They often met around the campfire, alone, and chit-chat for hours before finally going to bed. Chrom slowly falls in love with her, feeling like he understands her, and she understands him. Even if he never thought of her as a woman as is, she has that lil something that makes her special to his eyes. He was really curious about her, as he’d never met someone like Loustica in his life. She was the one asking him out, as we could expect her plan to be. Working as partners, officially shown in front of everyone, they were soon asked by Ylissean commoners when their wedding would take place.
Gangrel and Valldar, both planning a murder, sent Aversa to Ylisse and inform Loustica of their plan: they wanted to kill the Exalt, Emmeryn. They think that killing Chrom is one step, but they have to get rid of the whole family to make sure the Exalt lineage disappears. Although, they don’t really care about Lissa, as they’ve learned she was not bearing the brand of the Exalt by one of her servants who works for Valldar.[She used to be a maid and gave baths to Lissa when she was little]. His influence as the leader of the Grimleal now reaches the whole continent and even some adepts in Valm.
Emmeryn was killed that night, in the castle. As Chrom arrived too late, he only met Gaius, who was trying to sneak some valuable objects. In the end, Gaius joins the Shepherds for a bag of candies.
“Grima” uses Chrom’s loss to get closer to him.
As Emmeryn died, Chrom would be crowned King soon, and she was determined to become his Queen.
It wasn’t part of his father’s plan, nor her own plan, but this would help unifying Plegia and Ylisse, when she would kill Chrom. Those two powerful countries and the Grimleals from across the world would be unstoppable. Bringing Grima back would be an easy task with the control of both lands and their divine locations.
Getting Lucina wasn’t planned either, but she knew it would be interesting to have a child bearing both brands. And as she was nothing but a toddler, she could easily get rid of her if needed.
After years of acting like a good person, secretly sending information to her father, Aversa & the Mad King, she finally put her plan to execution. Leading Chrom to his own demise.
